Review of the “Jurassic World—The Ride” at Universal Studios

July 30, 2019

We visited Universal Studios Hollywood recently and rode on the new Jurassic World: The Ride which recently opened. My 3 kids had never been to Universal studios and my parents had not been to the park in 25 years. We all had a great time and everyone's favorite ride was the Jurassic World: The Ride.

We loved seeing the Mosasaurus in the beginning. We felt like we were really seeing it in the aquarium as it was so realistic and life like. The ride took us through the journey of how it was for tourists when they experienced the dinosaurs escaping from the park similar to the movie.

My boys were initially scared about the big drop before the ride but they ended up loving the ride and wanted to go on it multiple times if time allowed. The big splash in the end was a great way to cool down from the heat too!

My toddler enjoyed climbing and playing at the new Dinoplay playground. It was a perfect place for her to explore and she had so much fun playing and exploring in the area. A great place for kids under 48 inches who are not able to ride an attraction but a fun place for them to wait and hang out. There is a child switch program available if any child in your party can't ride an attraction, ask the ride attendant at the entrance for any questions you may have about the child switch program for the adult waiting with the child and the waiting area for the ride.

My kids loved taking a picture and getting up-close with Blue at the Raptor Encounter. The way the trainer came out and spoke about Blue really made it feel like you were meeting a live dinosaur. They also got to pet a triceratops that came out later on it's side too.

The new interactive experiences with dinosaurs is such a great addition. We loved how the baby dinosaur that came out with its trainer was temperamental and had its own personality. It growled at my son but let another child pet him underneath it's neck. It was such a fun and memorable experience!

We had lunch at the Jurassic Cafe and enjoyed the new healthy options of the pomegranate guacamole with plantain chips  pomegranate chicken salad,  and citrus glazed chicken. The kids enjoyed the dino bites which were chicken tenders, fries and fruit.  The Isla Nu-Bar offers cocktails such as mai tai's, pina colada's, margarita's, beer and more.

🧹Hogwart’s Castle, Hogsmeade and the Wizarding World is amazing to see. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride makes you feel like you’re riding the broomstick along with Harry and his friends. The kids liked watching people who purchased the wand at Ollivander's use the interactive wand to cast spells and activate various experiences around Hogsmeade. The return of the Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle light show is playing at Universal until Aug 11.

Don’t miss out on all the amazing experiences, special effects, shows, and rides at Universal Studios this summer! Guy Diamond from the DreamWorks' Troll movie is also a new edition to the character experiences the you can have along with Poppy and Branch.
