End of a Chapter: My Last Macaroni Kid Covina-West Covina Newsletter

August 29, 2022

Dear Macaroni Kid Families,

As I was looking through my pictures to make the cover photo of all the fun memories I've had over the years, it's made me nostalgic and so grateful for the time I've spent with Macaroni Kid. I started in 2014 as an assistant to Macaroni Kid Chino-Chino Hills-Diamond Bar and became the publisher of Macaroni Kid Covina-West Covina in 2019. A total of 8 years since I started with Macaroni Kid! When I first got involved with Macaroni Kid, I only had 2 kids and my youngest was 3 years old and now I have 3 kids with my oldest being 13 years old. It's been such a journey for me and I have grown so much in learning new programs, working a website, and doing social media. My kids have benefitted from being able to be involved in different programs and having so many fun experiences going to events around SoCal. It's the end of a chapter for me as this will be my last newsletter with Macaroni Kid-Covina-West Covina. Now that my youngest is in elementary school, I've been slowly transitioning to be more involved in my kids' school and their activities, and even sub as a noon aide at their school too. I've realized I don't have the time and commitment I would like to be as publisher and made the hard decision to end this role.

Throughout the years, I've met so many great local businesses and it's been great to be able to partner and promote small businesses in our community. It's also been so fun putting together Macaroni Kid events where I've gotta to meet so many followers and subscribers. We even raised $800 worth of books for all the kids at Serenity's Foster Care & Adoption's agency in Covina through our Book Party with a Purpose last year through zoom.

But most of all, I've loved being able to be a resource to the community. I've spent countless hours researching to help you find free, fun and affordable activities for your family. And even finding home and zoom activities that you can do with your family during the pandemic and distance learning. It's been so fun doing giveaways and letting a giveaway winner know they've won and can take their family to an event they may have not gone to otherwise. THANK YOU for your feedback and making my day when I see pics and hear stories of the fun experiences you've had that you might not known about except through Macaroni Kid. THANK YOU for sharing your lives with me and my family over the years. I wrote this in my welcome article when I started: "Being involved with your local community is so important and I hope to play a role in helping you build greater and stronger relationships with your kids, other families, and local businesses as you have fun within the Covina and West Covina area." I hope that I've been able to do that for you and your family. It's the end of a chapter for me, but it's been a great time with all of you. To all the publishers and former ones who I’ve met along the way, thank you also for your support and friendship in this journey.  It’s been a great community to be with. Thank you ALL for an amazing 3 years with Macaroni Kid Covina-West Covina, I hope that you'll keep in touch!

From my family to yours,

Thank you!

Natalie
