HOW IT WORKS
Kids are picked up from their school and brought back to Covina's Best After School and Summer Camp Program site in downtown Covina. When the kids arrive, they have snack time and 30 minutes of quiet time for homework and/or reading. After quiet time on Monday and Wednesday, they participate in a basic martial arts class, and Tuesday and Thursday they participate in a basic tumbling or gymnastics class. After the classes are completed, students play games like dodgeball, ninja baseball, tag and also have dance offs! Their goal is to keep them active and moving. They also do coloring and crafts.
FUN AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS OFFERED
Dance and Tumbling classes are offered which focus on music, rhythm and more! Kids will improve in their strength, coordination, and flexibility. The classes are perfect for boys and girls of all ages and experience levels and are included in your after school membership.
Martial Arts classes from Villatoro Bushido Martial Arts is included. Kids will learn to develop confidence, discipline, and respect while learning how to become Bully-proof. Their goal is to give your child the opportunity to set and achieve goals, make new friends, and begin the journey of earning a black belt. There is also a character development program which involves a word of the month and its importance. This month's focus is "Courage."
American Sign Language is new to the program where students are being taught basic signs. This week, kids are learning how to say "thank you" and the letters a,b,c, & d.
FREE TRANSPORTATION
FREE Daily transportation is provided. Your child's safety is their #1 top priority. Students will be picked up from his/her elementary school in comfortable after school program vehicles that are fully inspected and insured. They are currently picking up from: Cedargrove Elementary, Ben Lomond Elementary, Cyress Elementary, Grovecenter Elementary, Barranca Elementary, and Mesa Elementary. They are also open to adding additional local Covina schools.
ACCOUNTABILITY
A newsletter is sent out to parents to inform them of what the kids are doing each week.
PRICING
2 pricing options available: $87 per week for full school year commitment or $115 per week for month to month. There is no extra charge for early out or parent teacher conference days.
There is also day camps on legal holidays like Veterans day, Thanksgiving week (Monday - Wednesday), and our After School members receive 50% off
