Snow Valley is the closest ski area to the valley floor, about 30 minutes closer than Big Bear Lake resorts. Snow Valley is in the San Bernardino National Forest, and the entrance to its free, gigantic parking lot is at 35100 State Highway 18, Running Springs, CA 92382. The only six-person chairlift in So Cal, the Snow Valley Express safely accommodates the whole family and groups for Scenic View Chairlift Rides, Hiking and Mountain Biking in the San Bernardino National Forest.
Snow Valley is now open from Fridays 1p - 7p and Saturdays - Mondays 10a - 4p with FREE MOVIE NIGHTS on select Fridays in July and August!

Scenic View Chairlift Ride: Southern California's only six-person Scenic View Chairlift Ride allows a family or group to enjoy the ride together as they travel 4,636 feet, well over 3/4 of a mile, enjoying breathtaking views, spying the 11,503 foot peak of Mount San Gorgonio, or Old Greyback, the highest peak in Southern California. Possibly among the scenery: bald eagles, peregrine falcons or bighorn sheep amidst mixed conifer forests, pinyon juniper stands, oak woodlands and chaparral that cover the steep, rugged terrain of the San Bernardino National Forest.

The lift-served, downhill mountain biking chairs carry four mountain-bike riders per chair, the most in Southern California. Snow Valley offers over 7 miles of trails for all levels of mountain bikers. From a meandering beginner trail to more challenging intermediate trails to heart pounding black diamond terrain, there is something for everyone. Hiking: Via the Scenic View Chairlift Rides, self-guided hikers will access a three-quarter mile loop meandering through the beautiful San Bernardino National Forest. They will spot a variety of flora and fauna along the adventure hike. All activities offer panoramic views of the San Bernardino & San Gabriel Mountains, Big Bear Lake, the high desert and even the Pacific Ocean on clear days!
Guided hiking: After enjoying a scenic chairlift ride through the beautiful San Bernardino National Forest, participants will enjoy a complimentary guided hike around Snow Valley to the Children’s Forest and back to the Scenic View Chair for a relaxing ride back down to Snow Valley’s Base Area. These hikes will be guided by Snow Valley's Vice President & General Manager, Kevin Somes, who is a trained naturalist and hiking guide with 26 years of experience leading hikes. Kevin will talk about Snow Valley's history and will share details about the local flora and fauna of the San Bernardino National Forest. Attendees are asked to please wear closed toed footwear such as tennis shoes or hiking boots. Footwear without a heel strap is not permitted due to the lift ride. The hike will move slowly and the terrain covered will not be difficult with only a few uphill sections. We anticipate a 1.5 mile round trip hike and approximately a one hour fifteen minute total duration. A guided hike schedule will be released monthly with the first schedule for July expected to be released by late June and the schedules going forward to be released monthly through the end of the summer season in October.
A mountain bike repair shop is located in the base area. Outdoor dining, with beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be offered for sale.
