My fourth week on Jenny Craig was the second week of March and it felt like the whole world changed this week. Last week, I was worried about how the time change would affect my kids, which is now the least of my concern as the coronavirus became a world pandemic. There have been so many unexpected and stressful changes not only for me, but for our community, state, and country. The rapidly changing news has brought about school closures, work closures, and anxiety and fear about the future for everyone. However, the one thing that didn’t change this week was being on this Jenny Craig journey. In a time when people are worried about getting food, I felt blessed to have a variety of food available to me through Jenny Craig. It has also helped me to stay on track for my goals of being healthy. Since I’ve had my meals and snacks for the week already planned out for me, it stopped me from stress eating, constantly snacking, and getting take out food.
There has been so much to process and adapt to this past week and it did affect my routine which I was doing well on. My Jenny Craig eating schedule has been thrown off now that the kids are at home every day since our school is closed for at least 8 weeks. I’m now homeschooling unexpectedly and I’ve been eating breakfast later since I don’t have to get up as early which has sometimes thrown off my time for snack and lunch. I’ve forgotten to eat snacks some days because of it and I’m not drinking water as much as I did before. These are some of the areas I will work on improving for next week. This week some of my favorite foods were the Cheesy Egg & Bacon Skillet for breakfast and the Fish & Chips for lunch. I love fries and had missed that to eat so having the potato wedges definitely fulfilled that craving. I appreciated that Jenny Craig continues to add new food items and I tried the new snack bar they recently added, Chocolate Fudge Brownie Bar. It was delicious!

I’m thankful for my personal consultant and the Jenny Craig program in that they were able to figure out a solution in providing meals to members while following CDC and state guidelines. This week I had a phone consultation with my consultant during my appointment time. I was able to discuss with her some of my stressors and she gave me some ideas on how to improve my schedule for this week so that I wouldn’t miss my snacks. I appreciated the encouragement and support that was provided for me. Afterwards, she brought out my food to the trunk of my car with my menu for this week. I was provided with a measuring tape to do my own measurements and weighed in at home. Even in the midst of all the craziness of the week, I was able to lose 2.5 pounds! *Avg. weight lost in study was 11.6 lbs./4 wks. for those who completed the program. I received promotional consideration.
I’m thankful to Jenny Craig for the support and for keeping me on track this week. Next week is Week 5! I hope you continue to follow me on my Jenny Craig journey next week.
