It was my first time recently going to Merlot Spa to experience a treatment and I took my mom with me for a late Mother's Day gift and date together. We decided to each get a 1 hr massage and 1 hr facial treatment package. The therapist was personable and asked me what areas to target on during my massage as well as the preferred pressure throughout the treatment. There was a more extended hair and scalp massage in addition to the full body massage which was very relaxing. The masseuse was knowledgable and could tell the tension areas in my back and she was able to relieve the tension and knots in my shoulders and back. My mom really liked the massage as well and said she had a friendly therapist and it was a relaxing and pleasing experience.
I appreciated that the therapist was the same for the massage and the facial. I hadn't received a facial in years and she provided a skin analysis and then tailored the facial to my skin. I appreciated that she explained the process as she went through the steps of cleaning the face, massage, mask, toner, etc. It was a full facial treatment with deeper cleaning where she also asked if I wanted to remove whiteheads and blackheads without an extra cost. I enjoyed doing the mask and she showed me how it looked after she removed it. My mom also commented that she enjoyed the facial and felt her face was cleaner after it was done.
Since they are a medical spa too, in which they carry medical license staff that provides other services such as injectables Botox, laser treatments and medical peels, they were able to recommend further treatment options to remove spots in my skin when the facial was completed. Although I opted not to do the further treatment, I liked the variety of options that were available (laser vs. non laser) to me if I decide to do it in the future and that I was not pressured. My mom and I appreciated the time to relax together in their waiting room below and it was definitely a great experience together.
