SPOOKY SCIENCE MONSTER ACADEMY - Discovery Cube Orange County

It’s October, and that means that its Halloween season! Discovery Cube of Orange County has its annual Spooky Science event just to celebrate this mysterious holiday with some real facts. This year’s Spooky Science is hosting the Monster Academy where kids will learn real science lessons from some of the world’s famous junior monsters. The host will get the help of friendly monsters (like Frankenstein, Mummy, Ghost and Vampire) to help kids learns hair rising science lesson. This is an interactive show that involves the audience and the kids, especially younger kids will be surprised.

The Spooky Science event also includes several stations where the other friendly young monsters will introduce to kids different activities.

The “Bolton – Most Energetic” station where there is a Snap-Circuit Electronic Kit where the kids with the assistance of a discovery cube staff will guide your kids on a hands on introduction to electronics using real circuit components that snap together to create working electronic circuits and devices

The “Skellee – Most Humerus” station provides kids with real x-rays copies of the human bone where kids are able to see under the light. There is also a miniature articulated (assembled) skeleton were kids can use as a guide to assemble a full sized disarticulated skeleton using the each of the bones. This is a great way for kids of all age see how everything is connected in the body and make up our skeletal system.

The “Slime” station is a hands activity where kids can create their own slime with very few ingredients. Adults and kids are amaze to see how mixing different ingredients the texture changes. There are a few different types of slime that can be created, each with different structures and feel.

For even younger kids, there is a hay farm track where kids can “drive” (push) their own mini truck around. There is a cute large Mickey pumpkin with ears that is a good place for a kid picture.

There are many others things that kids can do like take a picture with the “Invisible Man” or take a picture that makes you look like you are levitating. Don’t forget to take a picture with the Dinosaur Skeleton to finish this learning escapade.
