PEANUTS™ THE GREAT PUMPKIN PATCH EXPRESS
OCTOBER 15, 16, 22 & 23

This is a great event for the whole family.

Last weekend we had the chance to visit this fun an exciting Peanuts Event at the Orange Empire Railway Museum.

The Great Pumpkin Patch Express is a great family Halloween Event to go to. I must disclose that I am a huge Peanuts fan… I love anything that have Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang in it.  My kids loved riding this fun and exciting train ride, which takes you to the Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch, where you are able to pick your own pumpkin to decorate and take home.  They provide some cute Peanuts stickers and paint to decorate your pumpkin.  Don't forget to buy your tickets ahead of time and arrive early, because you don't want to miss out on decorating your pumpkin with some cute Peanuts themed decorations.  They do run out by the end of the day. I would recommend a 2 hours window before or after your train ride to enjoy all the many activities that are included with your train.

Here are some other activities that are included in the price:

-Live Entertainment:
The kids enjoyed jumping on the bounce house and dancing to the music from Nick the Music Man and Jen the Fairy Dancer.

-Balloon twisting:
Mr Twister the Balloon artist was also there, but like always, he is very popular, so expect to wait in line.  The wait was not bad at all, he tried to engage in conversation with each of the kids in line while working on the balloons.

-Coloring station:
There were coloring station where kids (and adults…  ok probably only me) can color Peanuts themed coloring pages.

-Hay Maze for young kids:
Smaller kids enjoyed running around the Hay Maze.

-Additional Hay Rides, Streetcars and Trolley Rides:
Other than the train ride, we got a good relaxing time on the Hay Ride, vintage Trolley and Streetcars.  Just arrive early to get a chance to ride them all.

-Learn about Locomotive History:
We also visited different exhibits on the grounds of the Museum.  They are all self guided on the day of this major event.  But on days without events anyone can visit the museum and docent guided tours are also available. You get to see railways locomotive, passenger and freight cars, electric streetcars and work cars that were used in the history of California.

-Storytelling:
With so many activities we decided to take a rest and relax a bit inside one of the Car Barns, where we had a chance to listen to some Peanuts Stories told by OERM Staff.
These were just some of the activities that you will experience at this event. As a Peanuts fan myself, the highlight for me was to be able to take pictures with my beloved Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Lucy. All the activities listed above were included on the price of the ticket (plus free parking!).  They even provided free cookies and orange juice for everyone.  They did have a small food booth to purchase hot dogs and drinks and also a small store that sold Peanuts related goodies.  Overall, this was a very relaxing day for the whole family.  There is only one more weekend for this amazing Halloween Event.  Don't miss it.

*Tickets were provided to us to visit this event and write this review, but all opinions are my own.
