LA HABRA, CA. (August 2016) The Children’s Museum at La Habra’s Fall 2016 Changing Gallery Exhibit will be a larger than life event as we present Time of Giants: Ice Age Animals, all about the Megafauna that roamed our planet in the not-too-distant past.  We shared our world with Columbian Mammoths, Saber Toothed Cats, Giant Sloths and Dire Wolves. What were these creatures like, and how did they live? Join us in this hands-on exhibit where kids can touch a 300 pound Smilodon and build their own hut out of bones and pelts like Ice-Age engineers did! What did Ice-Age people eat? Kids will hunt, gather and fish while donning fur capes and cook a pre-historic meal for themselves. Which prehistoric creatures are now gone and which are still around today? More than you might guess! Come enter through our ice cave and explore the fascinating animals of the Ice-Age!

The Children's Museum at La Habra opened in December 1977, and is located in a historic 1923 Union Pacific Depot Train Depot. The Children's Museum at La Habra was one of only a few such museums open on the West Coast during the 1970's. The Children's Museum at La Habra is a hands-on learning facility for children from infancy through age 12.
